TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR HURRA LINGO
Last updated: October 26, 2026
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Hurra Lingo mobile application, website, learning platform, online lessons and related educational services.
The Services are provided by Hurra Education International Ltd, company number 14126405, at 152–160 Capital Office Ltd, Kemp House, City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX (“Hurra Lingo”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
Please read these Terms before creating an account or purchasing our Services. We present the applicable Terms for acceptance when you register or place an order.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits mandatory consumer rights or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
1. DEFINITIONS
“Account” means an account used to access or manage the Services, including associated learner profiles.
“Account Holder” means the adult responsible for an Account.
“Application” means the Hurra Lingo mobile application.
“Child Learner” means a learner aged 4–17 whose participation is arranged and managed by a parent or legal guardian.
“Customer” means the adult purchasing the Services.
“Learner” means an adult or child receiving educational services.
“Order” means a confirmed purchase of lessons, a package, a subscription or another educational service.
“Services” means the Application, website, learning platform, live lessons, educational materials and related services provided by Hurra Lingo.
“You” means the Account Holder, Customer or adult Learner, as applicable.
2. ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION
Account Holders and Customers must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into an agreement.
Learners under 18 may participate only through arrangements made and managed by a parent or legal guardian. The responsible adult accepts these Terms and provides appropriate supervision.
You may create and manage learner profiles where the relevant functionality is available. You must have the necessary authority to provide information and arrange services for another person.
You must provide accurate information and keep material account details up to date.
You must protect your login credentials, avoid sharing them with unauthorised persons and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICES
Hurra Lingo provides language education for learners aged four and above through live online lessons delivered by our teachers and educational materials available through our learning platform.
We provide educational services directly rather than merely operating a marketplace connecting independent teachers and learners.
Unless your Order expressly states otherwise, standard lesson durations are:
- Ages 4–9: 30 minutes.
- Ages 10 and above: 40 minutes.
The features, materials and support included in a purchase are described before you place your Order.
We provide educational services with reasonable care and skill. We do not guarantee a particular proficiency level, examination result, qualification or rate of progress.
Learning outcomes depend on factors including attendance, practice, motivation, individual learning needs and technical conditions. This does not affect your rights where we fail to provide the agreed Services.
4. LESSON BOOKINGS AND ATTENDANCE
Lesson dates, times and the applicable time zone are communicated through the booking process or confirmation.
Learners should join at least two minutes before the scheduled start.
Lessons begin and end at the scheduled times. Arriving late does not normally extend the lesson.
If a Learner does not attend or arrives more than 10 minutes late, the lesson may be treated as a no-show and deducted from the purchased package.
No-show charges apply only where the rule was clearly disclosed and is lawful in the circumstances. They do not override statutory cancellation or refund rights.
Please contact us promptly if exceptional circumstances affect attendance.
5. CANCELLING OR RESCHEDULING INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
To cancel or request rescheduling of an individual lesson, give us at least 24 hours’ notice before its scheduled start.
A lesson cancelled with sufficient notice may be rescheduled, subject to teacher availability and the applicable package validity period.
If no suitable replacement can reasonably be arranged, contact us to discuss a fair resolution.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may be treated as no-shows, subject to applicable law.
Cancelling an individual lesson does not automatically cancel the entire package or any recurring subscription.
If we cancel a lesson or cannot deliver it for a reason attributable to us, we offer a suitable replacement or an appropriate refund for the affected service, subject to your statutory rights.
6. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
You are responsible for providing a compatible device, suitable software and an adequate internet connection.
Live lessons may require a functioning microphone and camera. We identify material technical requirements before purchase where relevant.
Please report technical problems promptly so we can investigate and, where possible, assist.
Where a lesson cannot be completed solely because of a technical issue within your reasonable control, it may count as used under the disclosed booking policy, subject to applicable law.
We consider the circumstances rather than automatically treating every connection failure as a completed lesson.
Where a technical failure attributable to us prevents delivery, we provide an appropriate replacement or remedy.
7. TEACHER ASSIGNMENT AND SUBSTITUTION
We aim to maintain continuity of teaching where reasonably possible.
We may assign or substitute a suitably qualified teacher for educational, operational, availability or technical reasons.
A teacher change alone does not automatically create a refund entitlement where the agreed service is still provided.
If a change materially affects our ability to provide the service you purchased, contact us to discuss an appropriate solution. Your statutory remedies remain unaffected.
8. LESSON OBSERVATION, RECORDING AND PRIVACY
Lessons may be observed or recorded for disclosed purposes such as educational review, teaching quality assurance, teacher training, learner safety and dispute resolution.
Live audio/video transmission and storing a recording are separate processing activities.
Before recording, we provide relevant information and obtain separate consent where required by applicable law.
Accepting these Terms does not, by itself, constitute consent to optional recording, promotional use or other processing requiring separate consent.
Access to recordings is restricted to authorised personnel and Service Providers who need access for the disclosed purposes. Lawful disclosures may also be made where required or otherwise permitted by law.
Recordings and other Personal Data are handled under our Privacy Policy, including its retention, deletion and rights provisions.
We do not obtain permission to use a learner’s name, image, voice or work in advertising merely because you accept these Terms. Promotional use requires separate, specific permission from the appropriate adult learner or parent or guardian.
You must not record, publish or distribute another participant’s image, voice or personal information without appropriate permission and a lawful basis.
9. PACKAGES AND VALIDITY PERIODS
Before purchase, we disclose the number of lessons, lesson frequency, package validity, price and other material conditions.
Unless a different arrangement is clearly agreed before purchase, the standard package schedule is:
One lesson per week:
- Up to 4 lessons: 1.5 months.
- Up to 12 lessons: 4 months.
- Up to 24 lessons: 8 months.
- Up to 40 lessons: 12 months.
Two lessons per week:
- Up to 8 lessons: 1.5 months.
- Up to 24 lessons: 4 months.
- Up to 48 lessons: 8 months.
- Up to 80 lessons: 12 months.
The start and expiry dates applicable to your package are specified in your Order confirmation.
You should arrange lessons within the applicable validity period. Contact us before expiry if you need to discuss availability or exceptional circumstances.
Packages and unused lessons are not transferable unless we agree otherwise.
Unused lessons may expire at the disclosed end of validity. Expiry does not remove refunds or remedies required by law or arising from our failure to provide the agreed Services.
The refund provisions in Section 11 apply to cancellation requests. Expiry is not a general exclusion of those rights.
10. PRICES, PAYMENTS AND RENEWALS
Prices, currency, applicable taxes, payment schedules and material purchase conditions are disclosed before you place an Order.
Your confirmation records the agreed purchase. Later changes to advertised prices do not retrospectively alter a confirmed Order.
Available payment methods depend on the purchase channel and are shown during the relevant purchase process. Where applicable, we issue an invoice.
If a purchase is processed through Google Play or another authorised platform, that platform’s payment and subscription-management procedures also apply, without limiting mandatory consumer rights.
For instalment arrangements, you must pay the amounts on the agreed due dates. If a payment is overdue, we may contact you and, after reasonable notice where appropriate, suspend future unpaid Services, subject to applicable law.
A fixed lesson package does not renew automatically unless automatic renewal was clearly disclosed and expressly agreed.
Where recurring subscriptions are offered, we disclose before purchase:
- The price and billing period.
- The renewal arrangements.
- Any trial period and the subsequent charge.
- How and when to cancel.
- The effect of cancellation on access.
Uninstalling the Application does not itself cancel a recurring subscription. Follow the cancellation process for the platform through which you subscribed or contact us for assistance.
11. CANCELLATION, WITHDRAWAL AND REFUNDS
Statutory Rights
Any mandatory cancellation, withdrawal, refund or service-quality rights applicable to your purchase remain available.
Our commercial cancellation arrangements are additional to those rights and do not replace them.
If you request that Services begin during a statutory cancellation period, we obtain any legally required express request and explain any resulting payment obligation.
Where applicable law allows a proportionate charge for Services supplied before statutory cancellation, that charge is calculated in accordance with the relevant legal requirements.
Any loss of cancellation rights for fully performed services or digital content requires the specific conditions imposed by applicable law. Accepting these Terms alone is not sufficient.
Commercial 30-Day Cancellation Offer
In addition to applicable statutory rights, you may request cancellation of a lesson package within 30 days of activation.
Under this commercial offer, the refundable amount is the amount paid for unused lessons, calculated using the package price attributable to those lessons.
Lessons already delivered and validly charged no-shows may be deducted where lawful. These deductions do not override a statutory right to a different refund.
Cancellation After the Commercial 30-Day Period
After that period, you may request a refund for unused, unexpired lessons.
An administration and cancellation charge of 15% of the amount otherwise refundable may apply only where it was clearly disclosed before purchase, is reasonable and proportionate, and is permitted by applicable law.
The charge does not apply to refunds required because of our breach, failure to deliver or another circumstance in which the law prohibits the deduction.
How to Request Cancellation or a Refund
Contact [email protected] or use:
https://www.hurralingo.com/iletisim/
Identify your Account and Order and clearly state the request. Do not send passwords or full payment-card details.
You may exercise statutory cancellation rights through any legally valid method; use of a particular form or subject line is not mandatory.
We explain the calculation and process any refund within the applicable legal deadline. Where a platform processes the payment, its relevant refund procedures may also apply.
12. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND USER MATERIALS
Our software, teaching resources, content, trademarks and branding belong to Hurra Lingo or our licensors.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the Services for personal educational purposes during the relevant entitlement.
You must not copy, resell, distribute or commercially exploit our materials without permission, except where applicable law allows it.
You retain your rights in homework, images and other materials you submit.
You grant us only the permission reasonably necessary to host, transmit, review and use those materials to provide the agreed education, feedback and support.
Where those materials contain Personal Data, the Privacy Policy and applicable law govern its use. This clause does not grant an unrestricted marketing licence.
13. ACCEPTABLE USE AND SAFETY
You must not:
- Harass, threaten or abuse teachers, staff or other learners.
- Submit unlawful, harmful or infringing material.
- Disclose another person’s private information without authority.
- Attempt unauthorised access or interfere with security.
- Disrupt lessons or misuse communication features.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your authority over a child’s account.
- Use the Services for unlawful purposes.
Parents and guardians should provide supervision appropriate to the child’s age and the activity.
Report safety concerns or suspected misuse to [email protected].
We may take proportionate protective action to maintain a safe educational environment.
14. ACCOUNT SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION
You may stop using the Services and request account closure.
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address a material breach, fraud, unlawful conduct or a serious safety or security risk.
Where appropriate, we explain the reason and give a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue. Urgent protective action may be taken immediately.
You may contact us to ask for a review of a restriction.
Suspension or termination does not remove accrued rights, privacy rights or refunds required by law. We handle unused paid entitlements fairly in light of the circumstances.
15. ACCOUNT AND PERSONAL DATA DELETION
You may request deletion of your Account and associated Personal Data through:
https://www.hurralingo.com/iletisim/
Alternatively, email [email protected] with the subject “Hurra Lingo – Account Deletion”.
Parents or authorised guardians may request deletion of associated child profiles.
You do not need to reinstall the Application to submit a request through the website or by email.
We may verify account ownership or parental authority using proportionate checks.
Our Privacy Policy explains deletion, any necessary lawful retention and the rights available to you. Account deactivation alone is not treated as deletion.
Account deletion, subscription cancellation and refunds are separate processes. We explain their practical effects and provide assistance without creating unnecessary barriers to a deletion request.
16. PERSONAL DATA AND CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Our Privacy Policy explains the Personal Data we process, the purposes and lawful bases, relevant recipients, retention and available rights.
We give children’s information particular consideration and obtain parental authorisation where required.
Accepting these Terms does not waive privacy rights or authorise every possible use of Personal Data.
Parents and guardians may exercise rights for children where permitted by law, taking account of the child’s own rights and maturity.
Institutional services may require a separate agreement defining controller and processor responsibilities.
17. AI-SUPPORTED FEATURES
AI-supported tools may assist with progress analysis, lesson summaries, personalised recommendations and platform improvement.
These tools support educational delivery and do not replace human teachers.
AI-generated output may contain errors and should be reviewed by a human. It is not a guarantee of educational accuracy or results.
We do not use AI to make solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects on learners.
Personal Data used for AI-supported features is handled under the Privacy Policy and any additional notices or consent requirements.
18. OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO YOU
We provide the Services with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence.
- Any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
We remain responsible for losses for which applicable law makes us responsible. These Terms do not remove mandatory remedies for defective or undelivered Services.
We are not responsible for losses caused solely by your unlawful conduct, misuse or failure to take reasonable steps within your control, except to the extent that applicable law provides otherwise.
19. EVENTS BEYOND REASONABLE CONTROL
Events beyond reasonable control may affect delivery, including natural disasters, war, government restrictions, widespread power failures or major communications outages.
Where such an event affects the Services, we take reasonable steps to notify you, reduce disruption and discuss rescheduling or another appropriate solution.
If the agreed Services cannot be provided, your rights to terminate or receive a refund under applicable law remain unaffected.
20. CHANGES TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS
We may update the Services or these Terms for reasons such as legal requirements, security, technical improvements or changes to how the Services operate.
Where a change materially affects an existing purchase, we provide appropriate notice and explain available options. We obtain agreement where required by law.
We do not retrospectively remove accrued rights or change an agreed purchase price merely by updating this page.
New processing that requires consent is addressed through separate privacy notices and consent requests, rather than being authorised solely through changes to these Terms.
21. COMPLAINTS AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Please send complaints to [email protected] or use:
https://www.hurralingo.com/iletisim/
Provide the relevant Account or Order reference and a description of the issue.
We aim to investigate complaints fairly and seek a resolution in good faith.
Contacting us does not prevent you from exercising legal rights, seeking independent advice or approaching a competent authority or court.
22. GOVERNING LAW AND LANGUAGE
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory protections available to consumers in their country of residence.
Consumers may bring proceedings in the courts available to them under applicable law.
These Terms are prepared in English. Any provision concerning language or interpretation remains subject to mandatory local requirements and consumer protections.
23. GENERAL PROVISIONS
If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply where legally permissible.
A delay in enforcing a provision does not automatically waive the right to enforce it later.
These Terms, your confirmed Order and any separately agreed service conditions describe the agreement, subject to mandatory law and any representations that are legally binding.
If an Order contains a specific arrangement that differs from the standard package conditions, we make that difference clear before purchase.
